The STEM E team at MMS is working on Robotics. We have three teams creating, building, and coding their robots. The students had to decide what they wanted their robots to do - to solve a specific task or problem. As an added requirement this year, the group has to market their robot as a "Smart Tan

Our STEM-E group and Science Olympiad team operate together, and these are a few snapshots from our regional competition last spring at UNCA.

On Saturday, February 25th, the Martins Creek Middle School Science Olympiad team traveled to the University of North Carolina at Asheville to take part in the Western Regional North Carolina Science Olympiad tournament. Our team members have been practicing since the fall semester for these events.

Our group loved learning about mammal ID by analyzing skulls and dental formulas. In the afternoon, half our team enjoyed the Sphero maze challenge, and the others had fun with Circuit Playground!
